Cardiotocography (CTG): Monitoring Fetal Health During Pregnancy

Cardiotocography (CTG) monitors fetal heart rate (FHR) and uterine contractions, commonly in labor, to detect fetal distress and hypoxia. While CTG is crucial for assessing fetal well-being, evidence doesn’t support routine prenatal monitoring for high-risk pregnancies. Continuous monitoring, sometimes up to 24 hours, aids in diagnosing complications like premature labor.
